Short, medium, or large. And by long distance, I mean around 2 to 2.5 miles. I'm also kinda tall so would long strides best suit me?

  1. if you have long legs, not necesarily tall. you should use large strides because you get more distance with 1 stride which is less energy. but just do what feels right for you. i wouldn't say short strides cuase that just uses more energy.

  2. depending on what pace you are going, you should always go around 180 strides per minute. that is considered to be the ideal number because it is most efficient.  So try to always run 180 spm and then depending on your pace lengthen or shorten your stride while keeping that same tempo. if you take longer strides at 180 spm than you will go faster obviously.

    hope this makes some sense

  3. you should never extend your knee further than your body

overstriding is one of the top reasons for injury, especially for girls

    medium is good

just do what feels natural because thats probably best for your body

  4. I once heard an olympic runner say that he just concentrates on "putting his foot back down." It made sense to me.  I tried it, and it did seem to work, giving me a more efficient stride...I was able to run longer with less effort.  Without the luxury of video/ digital/computer stride analysis, I would go with what feels best to your body.  For speed...just get your foot back down, and minimize the upperbody movement.  If you are going for stretch, then try a longer stride...

  5. if your tall and have long legs go for medium to long and it will help u do faster:]

    hope i helped;]

  6. what you feel good with, when your going up hill then short strides down hill long strides
