  1. the proper way to measure a lizard is from start of nose to vent in tale. it sounds fine. but sand is not recomended for any reptile. as long as you feed her in another tank its ok. also if preg give her a pinky once a month or right after to help with calcium

  2. never use sand.the leopard gecko ingests sand which can build up and block the intestine. i would use paper, newspaper or paper towels.also what not to use is walnut shells or aquarium gravel. As with the shaving don't use cedar or pine. they are toxic

to all geckos and reptiles. hope this helps and good luck with your gecko!

  3. Sand is not good for young leopard geckos. Imagine you swallowing sand. Now, imagine swallowing sand being 4 inches long, with a stomach the size of a small pea. It can cause blockages, and death. They make something called cage carpet, its just like felt. This works the best. It is easy to clean, and maintain. I use it with all of my dessert reptiles throughout their entire lives. No need to use sand, its more work and it is worth.

  4. One question.  Is it 4 inches including its tail, or not including the tail?
