What type of subwoofer box would be best for my 12" kicker cvx sub?

vented is best for that.

rather than sealed for rock music.

yes, rap & hip hop music mosley have deep long bass an others have hard thumping bass. so for rap and hip hop musics a ported box would be the best one to use cus it give you that deep long bass and sealed box would give you a hard pounding bass,  depending on what types of bass you llike you can use either one.

Ported would be best for that type of music.  Something that is a little higher tuned and larger would give you loud, deep bass that is ideal for rap and hip hop.
