I work for an Liability Insurance Company, and we get these reports sent in through mail of I guess there insurance investigators. They go to the scene of a accident like a slip/fall or other kinds of accidents, and take pictures, and then write a report along with the photos explaining the scene, and they also get recorded statements, etc. They then send them over to our claim adjusters, Anyone know what type of training or education is needed, here in Los Angeles, CA.

  1. Usually the training is "in house".

Although there are some schools you can go to. Southern Farm Bureau Tech runs a school in Jackson, Ms and there was a school in Chicago- Tech Core (but I could not find the web site for this one). There are probably others, these are just ones that I know of.

  2. They need a license, from your state insurance department.  They need to pass a test.

But it's really hard, if you're green, to get hired as an outside adjuster.  You're best off going to your local branch of Crawford & Co, and talking to someone there.
