You probably want to be more lean and quick then muscular and bulky so should i stay away from weights and do calisthenics? What's more important endurance or strength?

  1. i would do alot of balance training aswell as some weights your endurance is really really important too i would do some things like hit many balls then go back to the fence and some jumping side to side this builds alot of endurance

also maybe try the beep test you basically run from one side to another and you have to make it before the beep i am not sure about the details but i had a personal trainer and then new all about it and your endurance will gain rapidly when you are done with that you will outlast your oponent easily

  2. Both endurance and strength are important.  When I was playing competitively, I rotated between strength and cardio training.  But I seem to do more cardio than strength training.  Also make sure you rest your body the next day.  I would suggest a every other day training so you can rest your body in between.  Good luck :)

  3. Endurance is definitely more important. Being able to keep hitting back the ball so that your opponent gets tired before you do is more important than getting that killer shot in once in a while. However, keep your fitness balanced. Do lift weights as well as all kinds of conditioning. Stretch before you do ANYTHING. Running is a very good idea, and maybe even swimming. To build your endurance challenge yourself to go farther each time. But the most important part of tennis is technique and practice. Spend as much time as possible on the court, racking up the experience needed to improve your game.
