I have always been in love with willow trees - I doubt personally if there is a lovelier tree that makes me feel calm and grounded.

  1. Gardenia bush...where I come from they grow as big as a tree although it's just a bush....a big bush.

the smell and beauty of the flowers is amazing my all time favorite.

  2. After careful thought, I think I would pick apple. Apple trees always catch my eye. When I see one, I always want to sample the fruit, but more for the ceremony of climbing the tree, being cradled in its limbs, and being fed by it. Not only that, the scent of apples just sets off a sort of surreal trigger in my brain that makes me feel in touch with nature, and strong in the sense that I am part of it, as well as being totally vulnerable to it. It may be that the harvest cycles are part of my religion, and autumn is my favorite time of the year - apples are a very autumn fruit. When my family celebrates thanksgiving, I always get the same emotional reaction from being with my family on that day, sharing the fruits of labor and the attitude of thankfulness, as I get from the scent of apple.

  3. Willow for me too.  I have them on my property and I find they are a restful influence on me.

  4. A tree resonating with me spiritually?

  7. Definitely oak.  They always call to me when I'm out walking.  Course I live in the South and some people would say that could be because I'd be drawn to any tree that isn't a pine, but there are others (sweet gum and pecan, for instance) that don't call to me quite as much.

  8. The bodhi tree. The kind that Gotama  Buddha sat beneath.

  9. I think the Holly Tree, because Holly Trees are either male or female, and in order to produce the red berries there must be a male and female to pollinate. :)

  10. This is so strange.  I take my toddles to a nearby park and there is a tree which when I sit under it, I feel better. I was thinking that it was my imagination.

Now, what is it about a tree that may affect me so? I do know that ancient Druides worship through trees. but, really what does that mean.
