  1. Ok. I have a ripstik and usually when u get the ripstik it comes with a little dvd which shows you how to do 2 or 3 tricks. Unfortunately, these tricks are really hard except for some things like a wheelie or a nose manual. To start off, there are actually lots of things you can do with a ripstik. There is the wheelie, which is a trick where you put your back foot on the back edge of the ripstik and lean your weight backward to pull off a wheelie. The wheelie usually takes a little bit off practice and lots of balance. There is the nose manual, which is a trick where you put your front foot on the front edge of the ripstik and lean your weight forward. The nose manual is harder than the wheelie and is a trick that is harder to balance and takes awhile to practice. A trick I've made is called the stall. What you do is you do a wheelie and then put the front part of the ripstik (as your doing the wheelie) up onto something that is elevated compared to the ground. You can do this mostly with steps or sidewalk gutters. Another trick that I created is very usefull for going from the sidewalk to the streets or from one elevated place down to another place which is lower. Again, you do a wheelie and proceed to ride off the sidewalk or elevated thingamabob and then as your back wheel is about to run off the edge as well as the rest of your ripstik you end the wheelie resulting in (when you do it right) plopping down onto the street or some place lower than you were before. (I find this fun and useful for riding from sidewalks onto the street) This trick is quite hard and I myself mess up while doing this trick frequently. Another trick which I have created which is quite like the last trick is where you go from something like the street to the sidewalk. To do this you do a wheelie and then plop your front wheel on the elevated platform  thing or whatever and lean your weight forward resulting in you doing a nose manual before you end the nose manual once your whole ripstik is above the elevated thing you were trying to get onto. (the sidewalk usually) I find this trick and the last trick very useful for going over cracks in the sidewalk, short obstacles in your way, hoses, snakes, or anything the you think that your ripstik could fit over while riding. Basically the two tricks are where you do a manual then a nose manual to get over something, down somewhere, or up onto something. These two tricks are easy to do after somepractice and are not just fun tricks but can be used frequently to be able to ride around town with out  hitting cracks in the sidewalk and flying  20 ft into the air and hurting yourself. Anyways, Another "trick" that you can do is where you crouch down like a frog while your riding your ripstik. I dont know if this is useful for anything, but it is fun. Crouching down like this is pretty easy and just requires a lot of balance. Two other tricks that I made are called drifting. Drifting is where you pretend to take a turn and you turn your ripstik one way or the other, but stop halfway in your turn as your ripstik is facing sideways and you r going forward. This trick is kind of hard to explain but basically you try to be able to gain a little speed and then attempt to turn your ripstik as much a possible to try and go forward while your ripstik is facing sideways. This trick is hard but just requires lots of balance and control. The famous tricks that skateboarders know are called the ollie and the kickflip. The video that should have come with your ripstik shows some pro dudes doing these tricks. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do these tricks even after riding for almost a year. The last two tricks I have to tell you are some of my favorite tricks. First off, I'll starts with two where you start off. In the video, you should see some people running and then hopping on their ripstiks and taking off. This trick requires lots of balance, control, skill, and courage. Don't chicken out. Just walk at first, or skip or hop, i really dont care, and then hop on putting your left foot on just before your right foot and center your feet as much as possible. If you jump too far, you'll miss and fall off. What you need to try to do is jump right in the middle. Once you've mastered this, then it is a really fun way to start off riding your ripstik. Another fun way to start is by first off, holding your ripstick on the ground, letting the bottom rest on the ground and holding the top in your other hand. First, put your foot on the bottom of the board where it is facing a little bit outward. Next, drop the top part of the ripstik and try and make sure that your foot holds up the ripstik. Next balance, your other foot on the front part of your ripstik but not letting any weight fall upon it. When ready, put your weight down on the front part of your ripstik and then start riding. This trick requires balance, some practice, and stability when you start riding after you let your weight fall upon the front part of your ripstik. Usually you start going really slow once you put your weight down so you'll wanna be good at riding very slowly. Lastly, of my tricks, it is an ending trick. You set your ripstik on the ground, put your foot under the bar in the middle and fling the ripstik up with your foot (which should have been under the bar). Then once the ripstik is coming up in the air you grab the middle bar. This trick requires a little practice, and can hurt if you fling the ripstik inti your shin. (trust me i figured that out the hard way) Anyways, those are the tricks that I can tell you and that I know about. If you have any questions contact me via e-mail. (Just to let you know I have not practiced at a skateboard park. Going to a skateboard park would be a great way to find out some new tricks you can do. And it would be awsome if you could tell me what they are and how you do them.)  Have a great time ripstiking!
