i have a bichon frise. I've heard that broccolli is not good for a dog. He is a picky eater. Is it true that apples are not good for dogs either? What type of milk is good for him or should i give him yogurt instead? He is 2 years now. Thanks to all.

  1. corn

  2. It's better to give low fat milk.Yogurt is good also, but they usually don't have yogurt very much.Try to give something with much calcium such as dried whey. If you give too much of full cream milk, she/he may face a problem by frequent urination, in that case add little honey, very little, And mix it along with the milk.

  3. i have 8 dogz.. n i give them fresh peachs, apples, carrots bananas green beans and pumpkin n  oatmeal cookies n give them grapes  but sum1 said there toxic so i dont really give them grapes :)

  4. no milk.yogurt:yes.

i give my dogs broccoli and they are alive and well!

sweet potatoes and yams:cook them of course

i also give them cooked rice sometimes, and cooked quinoa.

  5. Dogs NEED vegetables for vitamins. Dogs have actually eaten vegetables the whole period of their evolution.

The fruit of apples are fine, its the seeds you need to worry about. Broccoli is fine too but don't listen to the dude above! Corn is bad for dogs and so are onions.

    Good veges for dogs include:

    peas

    carrots

    green beans

    broccoli

    spinach

    potato

    celery

    capsicum

  6. Don't bother. Just get him a good quality dog food. Dogs are carnivores, they do not need vegetables. Also, milk will upset their digestive systems, and you'll likely have to deal with a lot of diarrhea. Don't change his diet quickly if you decide to ignore my advice, as it will upset his system even more.

  7. Don't know why you want to feed your dog vegetables. I definitely would not give him milk or yogurt.  Table foods aren't really that great for dogs.  Feed him a good dry dog food.

  8. Onions and garlic can cause anemia in dogs.My dog, a German Shepard x Canadian Wolf enjoys carrots and diced potatoes.

  9. I home cook for two of my dogs as, for various reasons, this is the best diet for them. I use a variety of fruits an veggies both for bulk and vitamins and minerals. These being

Carrots, swede, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, cabbage, apples, pears, and peaches (not pips or stones).

I also use rice, pasta (wholewheat) and and oates.

    Plus a variety of meats.

They have a very balanced diet and are very healthy on it (proven by vet checks which have included blood tests) and work very hard and compete successfully on it.

Feeding a "good" dry complete feed is not always the best way to feed your dog. Mine were on one of the best but it wasn't best for them. My other dogs remains on a dry complete diet as they are fine with it and I'm too lazy to cook for more than the two I do! Ultimatly this is what feeding dry complete is about, convenience.
