Question:

What type of video slot do i have?

I was just wondering what exactly my video card slot is. I know my card is Geforce 4600 or something. Just i need to know what type of slot i have so i can upgrade.

Please help someone.

  1. If you look at the graphics card in the motherboard it will in one slot by itself, that would be an AGP. If its in a slot directly next to a couple of others which are identical it would be PCI of some sort. If you go into control panel,settings, advanced and then adaptor, the chip type will also give the description of your card.


  2. AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port).  The Geforce cards came out when PCs used AGP video slots, hence you have an AGP slot in your PC.

    The newer slots are PCIe.
