  1. i would say if your gonna snowboard alot buy the equipment. its expensive tho, you have to buy the table and the vises to put your board on. ( vises range from 80 to 150$)  you gotta buy the wax (any LF wax will do the job 20$) then you gotta buy your iron wich is another 100$. if you wanna go cheap you can take an old iron you have at home. you just pur your board on the vises make sure theyr tight and it wont fall. wait until your iron is hot put the wax on the iron let the wax drip on your board. then you take your iron and just pass over the wax so it gets even in your base. important to know never leave the iron still at the same place. always move around with it bcuz if you stay at the same place even for a few seconds with ur iron u might **** up ur base.

hope this helps . good luck. with practice youll get better!

  2. Everything you need to know about waxing and tuning is in this free guide: http://www.kuu.com/tuningmanual2.pdf

KUU makes great waxes and tools too!

  3. dude, take it to a shop, i like to wax my board my self, but getting all the necessary materials would cost you as much as taking it to a shop,

but waxing your own board, if done properly and w/attention to detail, it can take up to an hour

  4. Waxing a board is easy and makes a world of difference. Not only does it let you ride effortlessly, it protects the base. You should always wax a new board first because many aren't waxed from the factory.

Oneballjay, bluebird, and toko wax is what i personally use.

1.) first take your bindings off and scrape all the old c**p off.

2.) heat up an iron (clothing iron is fine) and drip wax over it... but not too much. the iron should be hot enough to melt the wax but not cause smoke.

3.) then spread out the wax with your iron by melting it (if done right you should see the wax seep into the board... if the base is sinstered). you should periodically put ur hand under your board to check if its getting too hot. DONT LET THE IRON SIT ONTOP OF UR BOARD. KEEP IT MOVING or else u'll f*** it up.

4.) let it chill for around 20 min.

5.) scrape all the wax off with a plastic scraper. there should be barely any left and the base should feel somewhat smooth  then remove wax from the edges. Some scrapers have notches to do just that.

6.) buff it out (i like to use microfiber towels) till it feels super smooth.

7.) then structure it with a brush. you'll want to structure tiny grooves in the waxed surface by brushing it tip to tail a couple times.
