I'm installing a sound system in my restaurant with 4 seperate zones. Each Zone has 6 speakers and I have 2 amps to power the whole thing. How do I maintain enough power through the zone mixer for the speakers? Also how do I shrink my speaker cables so there is enough space on the zone mixer? Do I put the mixer before or after the amps? Do I Daisy Chain the speakers to have one out? But won't that effect sound?

  1. your talk 24 speakers, 4 zones,  6 per zone.

first of all, for a restraunt, having speakers for say brackground music. stick to something low wattage like 15 watts. you won't need to worry about your amp not having enough juice.  Second, you'll want to series the speakers on the zone.  + off the amp to sp1 + then sp1- to sp2+ and sp2- to sp3+ until you get sp6- back to amp -.  This will insure that the sound level is equal to all 6 speakers, if you parrell, or daisy chain, all the positives, and all the negatives, the closest speakers will be really loud and the fathest speakers you won't even hear.  If you plan to have the same music play on every zone, I would just go to your nearest electrical supply house and buy for volume controls, they look like dimmer switches.  run your system to the two amps, then connect to volume controls to each amps, and series the 6 speakers off of each volume control.

  2. 70V system here are the details.

make sure to use a good installer this is not for a novice.
