What types of birds can get along with a Cockatoo?

Question

I'd like to get my pet Cockatoo a friend (hopefully one he can share a cage with) but I really do not have enough money to buy another cockatoo. Any suggestions?

Nothing. Cockatoos are naturally aggressive and are very defensive of there property.

It does not matter what type of bird you get.  It all depends on your birds personality.  Older birds that have always been alone don't do well with new birds moving in.  NO WAY will it be safe to let them share a cage.  Unless it is a breeding pair or they grew up together.  

Then again maybe you have a bird that plays nice with others.  It all depends on your bird.  If you are going to get another it should be of the same size.

Bear in mind that male cockatoos can be EXTREMLY aggressive and can become so in the drop of a hat.  Your bird  really does not  need a friend  as you fulfill that role.

well i have a CoCKOTOO and it is in the same cage as a parakeet so parakeet!!

I'd call a rescue first, take the bird to visit, and see how he gets along. He may take a shine to something there,
