What can be recycled with cardboard? Can things like cereal boxes and soda pop boxes made out of cardboard be recycled even though they have color on the outside of them?

  1. I recycle it in my burn barrel.

  2. Most all cardboard can be recycled, however, cardboard with extremely thick, shiny graphics can sometimes be difficult if you're putting it into a home compost pile because it takes a lot longer to deteriorate.  If you're sending the cardboard to the recycling center (or having it picked up) then I would make the suggestion that, if there is any question, go ahead and add it to the recycle bin and assume it's recyclable unless you hear otherwise from your local government.  Be sure, however, to remove any tape or plastic that may be attached to the cardboard (in the case of cereal boxes, you'll want to be sure the plastic bag is not on the inside of the box) before putting the cardboard into the recycling bag.

  3. Well, I sure hope so cuz I recycle everything from good ole fashioned cardboard to cereal boxes, pasta boxes, pop/soda boxes, any sort of cardboard that may come with packaging from toys (I separate the packaging and recycle what I can), virtually ALL cardboard material.  I have not found a cardboard material that I didn't recycle.

Also:  I put all my paper products with my cardboards.

  4. All cardboard and paper products are recyclable, color doesn't make a difference. In my area the only type of cardboard product that they do NOT accept is those cardboard boxes with wax all over them, like the ones that bulk fruit and vegetables get delivered to stores in.

Some recylcers won't take the cardboard drink containers that have an inner lining of aluminium foil, like long-life milk or some juice containers but some do. The best thing is to contact your local recycling company and double check with them if either wax boxes or these type are acceptable/not acceptable.

In theory they both are recyclable but some do and some don't.

  5. any kind is good just make sure it is not have a wax top cover or it is not good

  6. You should check with your town. Some towns, like mine, don't accept cereal boxes, pizza boxes, beer cartons, etc.
