What types of clothing should I wear/pack for my vacation to San Fransico?

I am traveling there the first week of August. What is the weather like? I am coming from a climate where we are wearing shorts and flip flops. Any resident or one who has traveled there who could help me out would be much appreciated. It is my first time traveling to this area. Should I plan on wearing jeans daily? Thank you.

Plan on shorts. Bring a pair of jeans or long pants for cooler evenings, but it will be warm and sunny during the day. You will be fine. Remember, you are not leaving the US, so if you desperately need anything, you can guy it there.

bring some pants and some shorts, you never know if it will be mild or hot.

It's pretty mild, so you should pack some shorts and stuff but i usually wear jeans, pack a little of both. (I don't live in San Fransisco but I live about 25 miles away)
