What bills can be postponed or payment arrangements can be made with creditors like: cell phone company, renting, credit card, school loan, water bill, electric bill, hospital bills etc.

many credt cards will allow you to skip several payments, should you lose your job, become hospitalized, have an immediate family member hospitalized, or pass away or other circumstances.  Some of them require you to sign up in advance for such protection, typically for about .10 to .50 cents per $100 of your balance or something like that.
