I am a psyc major now, almost ready to get my B.A. But I'm considering adding anthro as a minor at least. My great interest is in the psychology (mental/emotional workings) of indigenous shamanic/spiritual activities, and was thinking adding anthro to my academic work would support my interest in this area.

  1. None, haha!

If you do your Masters you will be going into research.  In any case, if you want to take time for your family, you will be hard pressed to do it, because travel is required for most jobs in anthropology.  If you want to increase your chances for a job, you need to get a BS, or at least go on to get an MS instead of an MA.  It's taken much more seriously.

Good luck, I have a BS in anthropology and now I'm trying to figure out what to do because I think I might just be wasting money if I get my Masters....

  2. I think you might want to try for a research professorship. If you're willing to go out into the world and research what interests you, you could definitely pull in all kinds of funding and grants, and accomplish a lot, to boot. But that's just my opinion, because I'd try that first.
