Should we make the development of renewable energy sources an economic priority?

Gas & Electricity are the most popular ones but there are a few of us now that use solar energy we have 4 panels on the roof for hot water and my garden shed light is powered by solar.

Solar hot water systems are the most popular.  That's because Hawaii is the most southern most state.  We should mandate a solar hot water system for all new buildings but the State has been dragging it's feet on this issue because of the cost that will be passed  on to consumers on their new home.

We will make renewable energy a priority only if non-renewable energy costs rise.

Canada is using hydro, nuclear, coal, oil, gas, wind, solar, and geothermal power sources.

I think I have listed them in descending sequence of  usage.

Ontario, where I live uses Nuclear more than hydro, and Ontario is the only significant nuclear user in Canada.

Ontario is trying to replace coal with nuclear completely.  That is Ontario Alternative.

Philippines: Geothermal energy (2nd largest producer in the world I think, I think Canada is 1st), Hydroelectric, Solar

We still use fossil fuels but its less than 40% (as a source of energy)

In Australia the idea of coal gas is popular, but not used. There are are a few eletricty power plants operating entirely on methanol from sugar cane. Solor is popular, and wind. But wish they would can the idea of a nuclear power plant.
