So I'm a 17 year old male trying to get in to the Air Force. I have to go to MEPS here pretty soon but a little unsure of what to expect there? My recruiter isn't very clear at explaining things.Lol.

  1. I think they do it to the males too, but the best part is when they line you up in your undies and make you squat down and walk like a duck.

I seriously think they do it for their own amusement!

  2. If you haven't taken the ASVAB, then you will do that, otherwise you can expect a physical examination by a doctor and a color blind test (the Airforce used the PIPs (Pseudo Isochromatic Plates) while the other services use a test called a FALANT).  If you are seeking a specialty AFSC that requires a special aptitude such as linguists or in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion, they will administer any special tests needed to determine your qualifications for those special programs.  After all the examinations and testing you will talk to a job classifier.  That is the guy or gal that will actually guarantee you your specific schools and training.  If you have something specific in mind that you want to do, make sure you let the classifier know that as long as you are qualified for that job, that you want that job and that you are willing to wait for a ship date to accommodate that job.  The classifier will always try to steer you towards the needs of the service and down play what you want ... stick to your guns on what you want unless for some reason you just need the earliest ship date or a specific ship date.

  3. well all you need to know is that your *** is going to get looked at and your nuts grabbed....LMAO

  4. This has been answered so many times on Yahoo! answers.

Drink lots of water the night before and during MEPs. This keeps your blood pressure low (a lot of young people even have high blood pressure) and it keeps water in your system so you won't stall during the pee test.

    1.Breathalyzer

    2.Blood pressure

3.Urine test- the "meat inspector" will watch your little pee pee as the urine shoots from the urethra.

    4..Blood Test-for HIV

    5.Vision Test

    6.Hearing Test

    7. Funny exercises - You will perform exercises with a group of other young men in the same room in your underwear. They are slightly painful on your heels, but do them correctly the first time, or you will have to do them again. You will also have your height and weight here.

    8. The doctor will take you into a private room, and the  "best part" is when the doc snaps his gloves on and says, "Drop your underwear to your knees and bend over." He will look inside your b******e, then he will squeeze your s*****m to check for a hernia.

    9. You will see a career counsellor. -Do not sign unless you get EVERYTHING you wanted. If they say, "you do it after basic training (for instances such as jump school) tell them B.S and you want it in your contract. If you are supposed to get a certain rank, make sure it is in your contract. If you are supposed to get a bonus, make sure it's in your contract.

  5. Bend over here comes the best part.......wooohoo, lol!

  6. Okay, first thing is a long wait.

you will wait for a very long time, more than twelve hours. you will not be allowed to bring anything with you (ipod, cellphone, etc)

you will do a vision test, they will take some blood, you will take a p**s test (you will not get those results back immediately) you will take a hearing test, and a color blind test (dont worry if you miss one).

then you will go into a sectioned off area and take all your clothes (minus underwear) and do a series of agility tests (testing for scoliosis, flat feet, etc).

then you will go back PRIVATELY into a room with a doctor and he will do the Cup&Cough. no big deal.

you will get your height and weight measured, then you will talk to a doctor briefly so he can overview your file just to double check.

after that, if you need to, you will take the ASVAB.

Finally, you will go to your career counselor and pick your job.

This is a long day. it starts VERY early, and it ends FAIRLY late. Get some rest, and if you have to bang a chick at the MEPS station, wrap it up.

  7. A complete physical including:

Eyes, hearing, range of motion, pelvic exam, weight and height, urine anaylsis, exam with a doctor, medical prescreen, and so on.

It sucks. But when it is over, it is over!
