Ireland's climate is pretty nearly ideal for growing temperate zone crops; mild, plenty of rain all year round.  Plus it's surrounded by sea, so Irish seafood is good.  Spuds, barley for Guinness, pork and bacon are their best-known products, but they grow every temperate zone agricultural product you can think of.
