  1. Your doctor could give you a list of foods also!

    lean meat,

    poultry,

    egg whites,

    beans,

    peanut butter,

    tofu

    breads,

    cereals,

    rice,

    potatoes,

    pasta,

    fruits,

    vegetables

    milk,

    yogurt,

    sardines or salmon with bones,

    spinach

    lean red meat,

    spinach,

    iron-fortified whole-grain breads and cereals

    carrots,

    dark leafy greens,

    sweet potatoes

    citrus fruit,

    broccoli,

    tomatoes,

    fortified fruit juices

    pork,

    ham,

    whole-grain cereals,

    The main nutrients you should get are:

  2. you can eat most things within MODERATION although NOT shellfish. Make sure you do eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and dairy too. Grains and nuts are an excellent source of calcium and iron. Iron is very important when you are pregnant so talk to your doctor about keeping his eye on your iron levels. You may need a supplement at some stage of your pregnancy. And don't forget to get lots of rest, 30 minutes of gentle exercise a day if you can and make sure everyone makes a big fuss of you! Enjoy your pregnancy and look after yourself!
