You can recycle by swapping or selling your usable but unwanted items on the Flogit and Swapit sites.

These sites are very popular in a number of towns and Cities across the UK. I use the Worcester group, and it is really good.

They run like Freecycle and use Yahoo groups.

According to thier website, They're based in the UK, and are looking to start groups across the USA.

My son has Leukemia and he is unable to work...so in order to get some extra cash he does what they call "scrapping".  His friends and him collect all the metal junk they can find such as rims from tires, machinery in the woods, aluminum from old windows and doors, copper from old wiring, just about anything is recyclable. Take it to the nearest junk yard, not just an aluminum recycler.  Some junk yards make you have a minimum of lbs before they will accept it.(ex: 100lbs).  Some people will give away an old junk car.....TAKE IT TO THE JUNK YARD!  My son rented a dolly to get one car to the junk yard and made enough to more than cover the rental of the dolly.  It is amazing to see what you can take to reclycle and make cash on top of it all!!!

A man down the street from me picks up the old foam carpet padding that get thrown away when people put in new carpet. He takes it to some recycling center and gets a pretty good bit of money for a pickup load.

He also picks up anything that is metal that is placed at the curb for trash pick up...he gets big bucks for a truck load of old stoves, bicycles, water heaters, swing sets...you name it...if it's metal it's worth money.

Me...I just keep my old soda and beer cans. I crush them down and once I get 3 trash bags full...I take them to Metal Scrap Yard ( more money there )...I get around $22 for them.

But the best place to recycle things for the most dollars is-- eBay. Man...you can not believe all the things that are laying around your home that are worth money on eBay. You name it...it's on eBay...and if it isn't...then more money for you when it sells with no competition.
