  1. city planning, bridges, road works, pretty much any utility job.

  2. There should be a good future in Nuclear power.

    What do you like designing?

Check out Alibre's free 3d solid modeling software for machanical.

  3. I would like to put in a commercial for the type of engineering that I do.  I am an Electrical Controls Engineer.  Basically, I do programming on both PCs and specialized computers called programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to make machinery work.  In my field, not only do I do programming, but I apply a lot of math and science in order to control things properly.  I also do electrical circuit design and building.

If you would like to get into this type of engineering, you would either need to take a computer or electrical engineering course.  Most people in my field start out in the $40K range and as you get more experience, you can go a lot higher.

I hope that you choose engineering.  You seem to have the right "likes" for this.  You also need to work very hard for your undergraduate degree, but PLEASE don't let that turn you off.  I have found that if you work hard in this field, you can go very far and gain a lot of satisfaction and $ for your work.
