  1. ComBatCop,

How dare you roll me (the dirty three letter MOS) in with the MP's.  I aint neva been no MP, aint gunna b no MP, and yet, I'm part of the Regiment.

J/K.  From my outside, yet close, perspective is that the MP's are acting less and less like police.  The Army seems to be moving you guys more to combat rather than Law and Order.

I love the MP's, but the Army doesn't really let you guys be true Cops.

  2. We have a variety of different jobs.. we provide law enforcement for the military and civilian population of an installation.  We perform jobs like, traffic accident investigator, Military Police Investigator(kind of like detectives), Physical Security inspectors, Desk Sergeants, AWOL apprehensions, CID(criminal investigative division) (major crimes) and WMD (Military Working Dogs K9) that is our peace time occupations.  During combat deployments we provide convoy security, detainee operations, we do raids, snatch and grabs on high value targets, provide personal security for high ranking officials, go on patrols (mounted and dismounted) in the city's and rural parts of Iraq/Afghanistan.  We are the most diverse MOS in the military and one of the only ones that has something to put on a resume once we get out.

  3. 'Round my parts they hide out in cars in the bushes and give out speeding tickets.
