I take it you are talking about Georgia the State in the SE USA.  Depends on where you are--the north Georgia mountains are much different that the Golden Isles.  We live in Stone Mountain right outside of Atlanta and have a so-called Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) that is doing very well.  There also are several of them at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.  Your local gardening center should be able to tell you what is suited to the area where you live.
