It seems more difficult to start a small business in chemical then other disciplines such as civil and mechanical. I think this because in civil you could build warehouses and Butler type buildings and in mechanical you could offer HVAC and piping designs to many diverse clients. Air pollution control in chemical engineering seems too difficult because big firms with huge reference lists handle these situations that are high risk to plant owners. I just want to know what types of small businesses can be started, and if these businesses are realistic entrepreneurial endeavors? In addition, is the client base for these businesses mostly in the U.S.A. or abroad?
