there are different surgeons for different organs of the body.

usually, if you're in for a surgery, the general surgeon will see you first. then, if the condition is hard for him to handle, he'll refer you to a more specialized surgeon.

for eyes: ophthalmologist

for ears, nose, throat, mouth: the otorhinolaryngologist

for heart and lungs: cardio-thoracic surgeon

for abdomen: gastrointestinal surgeon

for bones: the orthopedic surgeon, traumatologist

for cancer: oncologist

for brain and skull: the nuerosurgeon

for hands and very minute surgery: the reconstructive surgeon
