It comes factory fitted with 90/90-18 front and 100/90-18 rear tyres. However I'd like to put in wider tyres.

  1. Generally, bigger tires will cause problems with handling, some severe enough to get you hurt.  When you put a wider tire on a rim designed for a narrower tire, it makes the crown of the tire taller.  This changes the contact area and changes steering geometry ESPECIALLY when the bike is leaned over in a turn.  This is when your bike drops out from under you.

It's a bad idea, but you're supposed to be responsible for yourself.  Make your own decisions.

  2. Different size tires will not improve handling - they will lessen it.

Manufacturers spend countless hours of testing to find the perfect size tires for performance and handling on each machine they make.

If you want a different look, put car tires on it.
