  1. Crossing the busy street. Singaporeans lost our ability to jaywalk....and in India, you have to jaywalk to cross the street.

  2. I've never been there.  But I see the young people from India (I assume they are probably contractors working in America) in the grocery store, and I'm so curious about them.  I wish I could just stop one of them and ask them like a million questions.  But that would be weird and I'd probably get arrested.

  3. food

  4. Hi there!  I haven't been to India myself, but my mother lived near New Dehli for several years.  I've seen pictures of where she lived and the Taj Mahal, and it is absolutely beautiful!

I think a lot of the citizens are beautiful people with beautiful clothes.  I love saris, and the colors used.  They are striking.

I don't know if I'd ever get used to those lizards who's tails fall off and grow back though.  My mom said her and her brother used to try to catch them and when they were caught by the tail, the tail detatched because they could grow new ones.

Oh! I also love japottis (I don't know the spelling).  They are hand made bread 'shells'.  They look like soft tortilla shells.  Indian food is great.

  5. i like tolerance of indian people... they can tolerate corruption , unjustice, dust , dirt , filth ... and still they are alive... they are tolerating some illeterate people ruling over them.  i like people of india who dont care abt ridiculous policies of government ... just living the life fully with joy and fun...

  6. I just love my culture..it trives there. i miss it!

  7. I love u guys for liking my country.Every few miles u encounter a different culture - be it language, food, clothes, customs, weather, terrain. It keeps changing within states too. There are so many dialects spoken here. Food varies from state to state. Even the saree is draped differently, though one normally sees one style worn throughout but check out the festive or marriage season for various styles. The weaves of the saree and the material (cotton or silk ) also changes in each state and each state has it's traditional saree.

Quirk-E mentioned " japottis" well the correct word would be "CHAPPATIES" also called "roties" or "phulkas".

  8. I love the culture and i have never been there but i can't wait to go someday!
