  1. When I work out at the gym, I prefer either a jockstrap or tight briefs. They keep things together and also hide tents easier.

I do however, wear boxers when just out and about.

  2. usually for pro runners, some short shorts have built in thermal underwear, underarmor is great, or anything u feel comfortable in and doesn't stick to ur butt or itches and pokes

  3. You should wear jockeys they are really comfortable. I used to be fastest in NZ for the 100m and they really help. DON'T WEAR BOXERS!!!!!!. Also try and get some skins they help as well

  4. the shorts that have build in underwear.

  5. You should wear something supportive and comfortable and with minimal coverage or wicking performance fabric.  Some styles to consider are jockstraps, y-back briefs, and athletic briefs (the kind with no sides, which makes it easier to move your legs).  As others mentioned, some running shorts do have built in underwear so that is another option.  If you are wearing short running shorts, make sure that the underwear is small enough that it doesn't stick out the bottom of the shorts.

  6. none. get running shorts with a lining in them and thats all you need. if you feel a need to wear something under your shorts then get compression shorts.
