Does having your windows down or using the air conitioning use more gas in a sedan?

  1. Well I was told that it depends on Your speed. if you are traveling intown at 0-35. I hear that at 45 and above you should use the Air because it creates less drag beleive it or not than having your windows open. I'll use this example: think about something like a conversion van that is boxy and has a huge engine. this is bad aerodynamics. this is why Most cars are sleek and have alot of curves to reduce drag on the car. old boxy cars have bad aerodynamics which is part of the reason they suck when it comes to gas mileage

  3. at low speeds, windows, at higher speeds, ac uses less.  the speed will vary with how aerodynamic your car is to begin with and how efficient the AC pump in your car is.  typically an ac pump pulls 7-10 hp to run.

  5. It's pennies a tank.  Why not have water instead of soda once a week and that'll make up the difference.  Then you can just drive in comfort without worrying about it.
