  1. You don't need to get any.  I would make sure you had HEP A and Hep B and an up to date Tetanus as a minimum.

The US Government Center for Disease Control specifies the following:

These are standard routine and should be administered in any case:

    Hepatitis A

    Hepatitis B

    Rotavirus

    Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis3

    Pneumococcal

    Inactivated Poliovirus

    Influenza

    Measles, Mumps, Rubella

    Varicella

    Meningococcal

    These depend on circumstances:

Typhoid (Visiting SE Asia especially rural areas)

Rabies (if you expect to be working with animals)

Japanese encephalitis (If you going to a rural farm area)

Yellow Fever (only if you have been to an area where yellow fever is present)

    Anti Marlarial Drugs

  2. I went to the doctor recently to ask the same thing. The doctor reccomended that I get Hep A and Typhoid however they are not completely necessary. He said I should be fine if I wore strong bug spray and was careful!! I got them anyway though, only cost about $100.

    Hope that helps :)

  3. None are required but the Center for Disease Control does recommend Hepatitis A and B, typhoid and rabies vaccinations. If you're planning on traveling to rural areas or trekking in the mountains anti-malaria drugs are also recommended. Most people don't bother with vaccinations  and are fine without them, especially if you're staying in the cities and beach areas, but many people do get the recommended vaccines, it's up to you. Btw, ice here is almost always made from purified water and is perfectly safe to use.

  4. I was told by a travel clinic that unless I travel to the deep South I wouldn't need any.   If you do expect to travel to the deep south they suggest the malaria treatment which are pills taken over a few months bothe before and after your trip. There are few tourist things to see in the deep south and presently there is polital unrest there including the shooting of tourists. The area in mostly Muslim with the rest of Thailand Buddhist.  I reafirm about drinking only bottled water, also brush your teeth with it and avoid ice cubes. The  bottled water sold by street vendors is usually safe but it is kept cool in water that is not. Bad stuff may be on the mouth of the bottle. Asside from that, Thailand is a great place, people are friendly and you can have a lot of fun there.

  5. You probably don't need any.  I have been here 5 years and haven't had a problem.  The only exception might be if you are going to some remote jungle that tourists don't go to.  Just drink bottled water and you should be ok.

  6. None...what...do you think Thailand is a wild jungle mosquito filled 3rd world country? Just be careful, taxi drivers can be a bit dangerous especially self-employed ones and they always try to rip you off when paying.

  7. None

  8. Nothing, if you don't have anything to begin with.
