They hold years of memories!!! They would be the first thing (inanimate) that I would save from a disaster!!!!!

First of all, this is an amazing question and you get a star!

I live in Southern California and we have to evacute due to brush fires every year or two.  Family photos are always the first thing I grab, simply because they cannot be replaced.  

I don't worry too much about current pictures of the family, because I know other family members have copies.  However there are old pictures of my grandparents and parents that I might have the only copy of and I couldn't put a monetary value on them.

It depends on who is in them...If it's family, they are very dear to me, if it's someone whom I dislike....it's a waste of film...

I would hate to lose any photos I have, but honestly, it's not the photos that matter.  It's the memories that come with them and no one could take those away from me.

i love photos cause they can easily cheer me up, and i feel all sentimental when i c how different i looked 8 yrs back, etc. i also try and remember how i was feeling at the time. i can spend ages looking at photos i get really absorbed in them =]

Just depends on who they are of. I used to have a ton of my daughter's father and her when she was a baby. He hasn't seen her in almost 2 years because of his new 'life' so I have them put up out of view. I try not to throw any away just because. But it's getting harder not to just put them in a basket and light a match.
