    good luck

  2. You could also buy some seeds now and try indoor gardening. Here is a link with some helpful information.

  3. lettuce from seed.beans from little plants at garden centre along with tomato (as large as you can buy)potatoes peas from seed

  4. Cool weather crops such as lettuces/salad greens, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, green onions, radishes, carrots... Anything that is frost tolerant. You can start herbs outside in pots and bring them in for the winter if you like, also.

If you want to extend your growing season further, you can build a cold frame. Good explanation of how to do it can be found here:

  5. Wait a couple weeks and you can start planting cool weather crops again like beets and broccoli and lettuce and spinach.

  6. Loads of winter veg is due for planting soon.

Winter onions, a late row of peas would still work, short term catch crops like spring onion or radish or lettuce. Even asparagus if you're looking long term.

Don't worry that much about timing. Nature doesn't read the books and anything could happen late in the year.
