  1. Corn, corn, and CORN!!!!

  2. There are many vegetables grown and marketed in Illinois.  Most are grown on smaller specialty farms and not on a large scale like in California.  The demand for locally grown and organic vegetables has increased greatly over the last few years. They are marketed mostly in Farmers Markets and roadside stands.  I can name you a few vegetables and fruits off the top of my head, but I know that I'll miss a lot of them.  I'm not aware of any web sites that could give you a very specific answer to this particular question.  sweet corn, tomatoes, many different kinds of beans, squash, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, radishes, okra, green peppers, pumpkin, collard greens, spinach, rhubarb, peas, potatoes, and fruits: apples, peaches, cherries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, watermelons, cantaloupes, apricots, pears, and nuts: pecans, black walnuts, hickory nuts, peanuts, hazel nuts.

  3. Many crops are grown throughout Illinois. The two main grain crops grown in Illinois are soybeans and corn.
