  1. Check out www.vegweb.com for recipes.  You know his tastes better than we possibly could.

One recipe I think might be nice for special occasions is in "The Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook" by Robin Robertson.  It's seitan with button mushrooms in a brandy reduction sauce.  I was out of brandy the last time I made it, so I used red wine, and it was really, really good.

"Enemy of the Steak" by Nikki and David Goldbeck has a Maple Pecan Tempeh that has a cornmeal crust and is super tasty.  I use walnuts instead of pecans, though.

For cakes, check out this chocolate pudding cake in "How it All Vegan"--it has been too long since I made it, but I remember it being just DECADENT.

Or check out Isa Chandra Moskowitz's "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World" and make birthday cupcakes instead.  I just made these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with a Cinnamon Icing, and they were awesome!  They'd even be good without the icing.

  2. check out georgetownliquorcompany.com it's a veggie/vegan bar that I work at in Seattle.  Mostly sandwiches but the best thing on the menu is the tamales.  It doesn't have the recipe for the dish, but it should give you some ideas.  For actual recipes try allrecipes.com
