I'm gonna' get an Mac, soon, and i know that it comes with "boot camp" so that you can partition the hard drive to install windows (I already have a vista disc used only once) and i would like to be able to play my games using that. So I would like to know which versions of vista would work because i'll be setting up the mac in english and the vista disk is in french. can anyone help?

  1. You should be able to use any version of XP or Vista. However I do not recommend using a 64 bit version. When you do use BootCamp (under the Utilities folder), make sure that you insert your OS X install disk while booted in Windows to install some drivers for the mac.

EDIT: If you have already activated that Vista Disk, you may have to call Microsoft to activate rather than go online. Online will reject it, if you explain the situation to the Activation People (they are very nice), they should help you activate it.

  2. DON'T USE VISTA! It SUCKS!

It just eats all your resources and doesn't give you anything in return...

The bullshit of Vista makes even the best laptop and desk top unuseable...

    It is not worth it!

Stick with your Mac OS or trade a friend for a copy of Windows XP Pro.

Don't hobble yourself with Vista... It is a total worthless piece of sh*t.

  3. Parle vous Francais?

    Define work?

They all work.  But they all have pros and cons.  Why did you get a Mac if you really want a Windows computer.

Also, are you sure the games will run under Vista?

  4. Ugh ... I'd get Windows XP and let Vista percolate a few more months (years).

There is *NO* software out there other than from Microsoft that runs on Vista but not XP - and it will run faster and more reliably under XP.

You can upgrade when you start hearing good things about it.  It may take awhile.
