  1. Inexpensive is a different number to different people.  Any camcorder that does what you want it to do in your price range is perfectly fine.

    Your best bet is to stick with a camcorder that records to dv tape (minidv or HDV).  DV tape is available everywhere for very economical prices - especially online.  DV tape can also be re-used and stored for very long periods of time.

    The AVCHD camcorders and video cameras that record to miniDVD, flash memory, and hard disc drive are causing serious problems for users.  Read the Camcorders section of Yahoo Answers every day and you will see these issues.
