What video format can iPod Nano 3rd gen play?

I own a video iPod Nano, i have a few videos all in AVI format, I figured that couldn't be right and it wasn't.

The thing is I couldn't get it into the library. If i can get something into the library iTunes has a converter. But what do i do and what do i use to get a video in AVI format into iTunes library?

Thx if u can answer (i know its simple...)

    manager that can transfer video to iPod directly without iTunes.

  3. As far as i know,  what your currently doing won't work. MOV is Quicktime AKA Apples video format. Converting AVI to MOV is common in many converters. Once your file is in MOV, putting it on your ipod should be simple.
