What vitamin supplement or medicine can truly increase your height?

I'm male and I'm pretty short for my age (18 yrs old). Does anyone know of any thing I can take that has successfully increased the heights of people in the past? Must be safe for health and available in local drugs store.

  1. The shortest male I know is 4'4".....height is genetic and normal. Unless you have dwarfism symptom....you're okay.


  2. Zinc, it increases the rate of cell division and may increase height, i actually had it prescribed once, but as others said " time heals all" and i didn't need it anyway.

Your genetics will limit your height, if your environment is the best it can be you can reach this 'genetic limit'. So the best way to achieve this height is to have a healthy diet, exercise regularly, sleep well, and avoid excessive alcohol and avoid illegal drugs.

    However if you believe you are short for your family situation then you may have a deficiency in a growth hormone. Hormones are the only drug that can have an affect on your height, as long as your growth plates are still 'open'. You would have to see your doctor to determine if you have a deficiency and to discuss growth hormones.

    This is something you should absolutely talk to your doctor about, you should not take any drug to increase your height without a doctor monitoring it's effect on you.

    It's also possible that your whole family has a deficient growth hormone.
