What vole do interest, lobby groups and political parties play in achieving public good.?

Not very much!  They're mostly out for a select group of people, not the majority of the public.

They're one of the reasons why our government is so bloated and expensive right now.  Most of their work is strictly for a small group which doesn't have the backing or clout to get all the money for themselves.

I see them (as do a large percentage of Americans) as a blight on society rather than something good.
