I'm thinking of repainting my walls and I have a glass desk with aluminum stands, as well as a similar TV stand. What wall color works best? Also, any suggestions for the color of the couch? Thanks.

  1. red

  2. The great thing about glass and metal furniture is that it goes with everything.  It looks best with real intense colors.  If you buy a black, grey or white couch the color choices are limitless!  This way you can change your colors as it suits you and the furniture will go with it.  My Hubby had a custom glass chrome table made in the 70s, and we still use it!

Here is a color wheel in case you decide to buy a colored couch.  Then you can choice a complimentary color for the walls (Just look at the color opposite the couch color on the wheel).

If you want to buy one they are pretty cheap

You can also pick one up at the local art/craft supply store

  3. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "secure blue" (# 6508) would look terrific. And a black or gray couch would look fab.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  4. You could go with blue walls but more on the grey side of blue. Go to the paint store and get some paint samples and tape them to the wall til you decide what color to go with. If you paint the walls a blue-silvery-grey you could get a black sofa and maybe paint the trim black and throw in some red throw pillows and a black and grey striped throw(small blanket) over the sofa. Find a poster for the wall-maybe something industrial looking- and frame it in a black poster frame($20 at walmart for 24"x36" frame)

  5. blue

  6. sounds like you have a modern style going on!

any bright colors for the wall will work (red, green, purple, ect.)

for the couch you really just need to play it simple with black or white

because it will look good with glass and aluminum furniture and anything as bold or bolder than the walls will make the room look smaller

i suggest black because white gets dirty easily

  7. try gray with a black leather couch.

  8. I would go with a medium to light blue shade for the walls, and then red for the couch. The red will make a statement and keep the room from looking to "cold".
