  1. there are so many signs that pediatricians look for that it is an autism spectrum. go to autismspeaks.com and get accurate information.

    good luck

  2. avoiding eye contact is one

  3. A decrease in words he/she may already be using. A change in personality and interactions with family.

  4. I dont know alot about this but i have heard that autistic kids tend to line things up. Or put colors into patterns(like blocks, line up the same way).  I heard they are very organized.  I know my son is not autistic but he always lines up his monster trucks all facing the same way so i dont know how much truth there is to "organizing" thing.

  5. At 2 years old it is really hard to say because many 2 years old show "autistic tendencies" but they grow out of them.  By 3 years old you will have a better idea.  Rocking a lot (for example sitting on the floor calming himself/herself by rocking), holding hands in a fist and shaking them excitedly, not speaking or saying big words but still having some speech delay, need to have things lined up, obsession with one thing (for example fish) and focusing on it and talking about it no matter what else you try to talk about.  The list goes on and on because there are many different types of autism that can go from mild to severe.

  6. Not talking well, mimicking things and actions off tv, not playing well with others but more in their own world.

MUST have set schedule or its a very bad day.

    Normally they are OCD.

Does not like too hot or too cold food also may have texture issues my friends daughter like bananas the second they are ripe but when they start to turn she won't touch them.

Potty training will also be slower and you may need to take a special approach.

There are many different types of autism some kids might be a little slower to develop while others may have autism and need special help to boost them ahead.

The most important thing to remember is that unless they are severely autistic they can catch up with help and lead a fairly normal life depending on the level of autism the child has.

Best wishes on your child and the future.

Another thing to help is teaching sign language to your child they respond better to both visual and audio stimuli then just the audio.
