Question:

What was Carey's motivation, do you think?

Poster Jemima has suggested that a question be asked about whether Carey wants to get back with his wife, hence the Denton interview. That's one suggestion. What else do viewers think made him do what was a very gruelling and intrusive interview?

Denton, who showed little mercy, said no money was involved, and I believe HIM - so why did Carey do it?

  1. Wanted to prove to everyone that he's a good nice guy just a lil misunderstood

  2. His motive was money & also hoping someone would believe him!

  3. There's usually 2 sides to everything.

At the moment all we've heard is from the media.

Without another voice or source we are going to continue to listen to that one source ie speculation and innuendos.

It gave him an opportunity to put his perception of the sequence of events.

An example of this is Channel 9 "Footy Classified" and other media outlets have crucified him for taking $180K from New Idea for their story. He's categorically denied taking money.

    .

  4. He obviously hopes some people are as stupid as him and actually believe what he said was the truth.

  5. Plenty of people hate Carey, mostly girls, but can i just say he never shagged steven's wife without her consent, it takes two to tango.

ok he is a troubled lad but i dont think any one should throw stones, come on guys, no one is an angel, especially me, why do we jump all over people because they are famous?

I don't think he could careless if people feel sorry for him, more like wanting to put his side of it out there, having said that, i don't think he told the whole truth, the glass, the Moran stuff, but it's up to him. i will continue to judge him on his brilliant footy career.

  6. i suppose it was a way to tell his side of the story

also, it is an important step to his recovery

i dont think he wanted people to feel sorry for him. if he wanted that, he wouldve talked more about his father and the trauma he caused. what i found surpirising was when denton asked him about his father, he sympathised with him, eg. "he (wayne's dad) had a hard upbringing", "he was hard but fair"

  7. The same motivation a Ben Cousins, ego ego ego and finally ego

  8. its just a confession like the church he want to be forgiven for his sins

  9. To make people feel for him :)

  10. He wanted people to feel sorry for him - hence distracting everyone from his bad publicity..

  11. he wants the public to start to feel sorry for him and forget all the bad publicity he's had lately.
