What was he thinking, seriously? He had a great car that would surely got him a good starting spot by even running a conservative lap, but what does he do gets greedy goes for the pole puts it in the wall and DNQs. I think he missed the bigger picture by going for the pole. Must have felt odd to be Mike Harmon and make the race because of Denny. I bet he thought he had no chance after his lap.

  1. No just like he wasn't thinking at Richmond when he should have came in the pits when he knew his tire was going down. Instead he stayed on the track and caused the yellow that caused the wreck between kyle and dale jr. Other wise dale jr. had a big enough lead that kyle would have never caught up with him. Hamlin caused it all.

  2. In my opinion Denny was under a lot of pressure. The last 2 times he went there he sat on the pole and won the race. He just wanted to do that again!

  3. He made a rookie mistake and he is not a rookie.  He is greedy and it didn't matter to him about anyone including the race team that put that car together.  It is a shame that he thinks he is so good that he doesn't need advice from guys like Tony who know what the deal is.

  4. Karma is a bit*h! Since he accidently got confused and stopped in the middle of a race, he has hurt his hip and now this. I'll bet it's a short night for him saturday.

  5. he should have been listening to what tony said.. that is why he didn't go all out he wanted to race tonight

  6. Problem was, he was not thinking, just because you were in last yr doesn't mean ya in this yr..Just That Lady in Black showing "SHE" is the boss..sorry Denny.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  7. He was thinking the same thing he always thinks...

That he's better than what he really is.

  8. According to his interview, he thought he had a provisional or some such nonsense.  He thought he was in just because he won last year's race.  lol

  9. Yes, not only did he make a big mistake, but it blew his confidence for qualifying in the Sprint Cup. He had one of the fastest cars in practice and he qualified crappy and didn't even run the second lap to see if he could improve.
