This question you asked is kind of like "What came first? The mother or the baby?" If it wasn't for the mother the baby wouldn't have survived the first couple months/years of its life. Or in the chicken and eggs case.. the egg wouldn't have survived the first couple weeks/months of it's life without its mother.

The chicken because once tiny little organisms came down off a metor and crashed into earth and started making more which formed into other animals etc. So the organism being one day a chicken. So yeah i say the chicken.

Plus if you dont beilieve in that and you beilieve in god instead god made animals not eggs. So yeah chicken both ways.

that's complicated...you would think the egg for the chicken to hatch out of...but then what would lay the egg...so I think somthing evolved into a modern day chicken and it began laying eggs to make more chickens.
