What was I supposed to do?

i was at a park with my friends (u know the king with lots of trees and bike paths, hiking trails, birdwatching spots, boat docs, fire pits and ponds - not the kiddy playground type) and the part was about to close so we make our way back to the car. Then, walking along the path around the duck pond was a little girl. She was not with an adult but was walking slowly and in a daze. there was something strange about her an she had almost an air of maturity to her like she was walking like an adult would, not a kid. Anyway it was getting dark so we asked her where her parrents were. she just turned around slowly, smirked, and kept walking. What were we supposed to do in this situation? we told the park warden on the way out.

Maybe she lived close by and was very familiar with the park.....you did the right thing....she wasn't in distress, and you didn't say how old....10 or so, wouldn't worry...but 3-5 shouldn't be alone....6-9.....it depends....

You did something....and that was good......

You could have followed up with a call to the police.  But you already did a lot by telling the warden.  

You couldn't have forced her to follow you - that would be kidnapping.  

She might have lived nearby.

thats creepy.. it almost sounds like she was possesed... althogh that cud b cuz ive watched way too many ghost movies today

the other answerer could be right.  she could of had sum dwarfism thing.  sum of them look like lil kids.
