What was Jack Rubys real reason for killing Lee Harvey Oswald?

His stated reason was to spare Jackie Kennedy the pain of a trial.No one can believe that anyone would act with such noblesse, the price to him being life imprisonment, though he may have hoped for leniency later in the form of a pardon.So why did he really do it?

My guess is that it was spur of the moment related to the amphetamine like drug he was taking.

He was already known for compulsive behavior and always carried his pistol.

Stepping out from a crowd of reporters and photographers, Ruby fired a snub-nosed Colt Cobra .38 into Oswald's abdomen.

hello. I agree with the fellow who states, 'to keep him from talking.' I was FOUR years old when that happened, but I saw my father cry due to this. It's a huge question, with a response we 'don't want to know. He was slain in Dallas Texas. TEXAS

The small time mobster was acting on the orders that originated from Sam Giancana, the then so-called Boss of Bosses in Chicago, thru the Marcello organization in New Orleans....  the assassination was to seal the lips of Oswald regarding the mob connection to Kennedy's assassination.

Marcello, as you may know, had been deported out of the country by Robert Kennedy's Justice Department, something he never forgave.  Bobby's crusade against the mob was his brother's downfall.  Giancana had manipulated the Chicago voting machine into helping Jack become president and here was his brother attacking the syndicate.  In the mobster's mind, this was a double-cross.
