  1. Eisenhower's explanation for the domino theory was that as countries would become communist, their neighbors would inevitably fall behind the iron curtain. He saw evidence for this in how China fell in 1949, then North Korea, and French Indochina (Vietnam). He believed that eventually communism would eventually spread so far as to take hold in the US and so on and so forth.

  4. He believed that a country on the brink of communism (in this case Vietnam) would affect other countries throughout the same continent and they would all "fall" to communism.
