Did she have a middle name? I know she was of the Tudor family, so was Tudor her last name?

Thanks!

  1. Elizabeth  I didn't have a  middle  name ,  her  name  was simply  Elizabeth  Tudor.  The current monarch's  full  name is Elizabeth  Alexandra  Mary  Windsor.

  2. Monarchs don't use a last name, they simply sign their first name.

Elizabeth I didn't have a middle name, nor did any other monarchs at that time. The use of middle names (usually several of them, in the case of royals) is a fairly recent practice.

  3. Ms tudor

  4. Well, you might say it was Elizabeth Tudor, Tudor being the royal house to which she belonged. Taking the name of the house as the 'surname' of the monarch is commonly accepted practice, hence Elizabeth II is Elizabeth Windsor.

As far as I'm aware, the original Elizabeth had no middle name. If you're interested, she was named for her paternal grandmother Elizabeth of York.

She used the official style "Elizabeth, by the Grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland, Fidei defensor, etc."

  5. While many historians have said that Good Queen Bess did not have a second forename, a document originating from one of her favourites (Dudley, Earl of Warwick) does refer to her as 'Elizabeth Snookums'. In the document he does not refer to her family name of Tudor nor does he, contrary to some scandalous speculation, refer to her Regina appendage.
