There has been a lot of Free Tibet activity for years. I am very curious about what it was like to live there before the country was taken over by the Chinese.

  1. It was pretty much the same as it always was.  The Chinese government has occassionally taken Tibet as a province many times over the centuries, but because of where it is, governing the arae has always been a bit tough.

  2. It was a totalitarian religious monarchy where 97% of the people were considered slaves.

The Tibet people have more say today and more freedom then anytime in their history.

I have heard on a number of occasions that many Tibet people wish the west would butt out of their country, because it causes the Chinese to crack down because of civil unrest that looks at though it was, in part, caused by the west.

China likes change slowly. If we would keep our noses in our own business, Tibet would be under the same concept as Hong Kong, which is, one country, two governments.
